Our April cupcakes were inspired by the Easter cupcakes in the book Hello, Cupcake. The eggs are made from graham crackers we carved using our mad skills. If you are wondering what the other design is, we are too…just kidding. They are supposed to look like bunny butts. The feet are also made from graham crackers and the tail is a mini marshmallow.

Saint Patrick’s Day Cupcakes
These are the cupcakes we made in March. We used our handy dandy cupcake corer to hollow them out and fill them with peanut butter frosting. Not to toot our own horns, but…YUMMM! Cupcake corers are a great, easy way to make your cupcakes special. Once you core them, you can use a piping bag or a Ziploc bag to squeeze a filling into the middle. Be creative with your filling…you can use frosting, mousse, candy, pickles or whatever floats your boat.

February Cupcakes
For these cupcakes, we put a little bit of chocolate batter in our cupcake papers and put a small ball of chocolate chip cookie dough in the center. Then we covered it with a bit more batter and baked it.
Our Cupcake Debut
We are two high school seniors that love to bake. Last summer we started making cakes together and when school started we switched to cupcakes because they are easier to transport and share with our friends. Every month we bring in different creatively decorated cupcakes. We like to decorate them based on what holidays are in that month.
These are the cupcakes that we made this January. Since there are no big holidays in January, we just used a winter theme. The next couple posts are just going to be pictures of cupcakes that we have made in the past few months.
To get this effect, first we died the cake batter blue with food coloring. Then after we had filled the cupcake papers, we put a drop of food coloring in each one and swirled it with a toothpick.
